UPDATES

2010 Rule Updates-

- 2010 Thunder Hill Classes: Novice, Jr.1, Jr.2, Stock Medium, Animal Heavy, Jr.wing/Box Stock, 125 Wing, 250 Wing, 500 Wing, Open Quads, Wingless Warriors

-2010 Novice flat kart class must have a 62 tooth rear gear to slow the kids down for safety reasons. Novice must also run a .425 restrictor plate. 2010 Novice rules.html If you want to go faster you can go into Jr. 1. Novice class will be for beginners. No points will be kept, feature races may be split into two features to give kids better and safer racing conditions, we will have special drivers meetings to help new drivers and parents, more experienced drivers are suggested to race Jr.1 or have the Jr. Winged Outlaw class option also. The more competition your son/daughter has, the better they will become!

- 2010 Open class Quads, we will race Open class Quads every other weekend (9 Point shows) in 2010 at THS. Quads riders will also be required to wear a padded neck collar or neck restraint with the rest of their safety gear in 2010!

-2010 Jr.1 and Jr.2 will have the same rules as last year. (Flat head engines only)------------------------

(....2011 Junior 1 and Junior 2 flat kart classes will be 6.5hp OHV (196cc Clone engines) only with restrictor plates (Detailed rules TBA) This is for 2011.)

-Jr.Wing/Box stock class in 2010 at THS must run only Treaded Tires on all 4 corners, same as other wing classes.

-Stock Medium and Animal Heavy flat kart classes in 2010 at THS will be allowed to run Treaded Tires or slick tires! (Any compound, tire size not to exceed 12x9x6, may mix and match treads and slicks together, example: can run 1 treaded tire and 3 slicks, 2 treads and 2 slicks, etc......)*

*There will be NO siping or grooving of slick tires in any classes! Factory treaded tires may be grooved or siped.

-New Class for 2010! Thunder Hill Speedway will race outlaw wing karts w/o the wing, midget style! This class will be run on a part time basis for 2010, maybe 8-9 nights as its own class, to allow guys from the 125, 250 and 500's to race both classes by just removing their wing. (Experienced 125 kids will be allowed in this class only with approval of promoter.) If a 125 kart is too fast we will implement a Weight rule of 400 pounds to keep it fair. Without the wing the engine size will be less of an issue and will highlight chassis set up and driver control.( halo bars in the top of the cage are mandatory, extended side panels or window nets are recommended for safety in case of a roll over.) Thanks, THS chadmeghan@wwt.net
